Southend Stadium : ウィキペディア英語版 | Southend Stadium
Southend Stadium was a former greyhound racing track in Grainger Road, Southend, Essex. It was also the home ground of Southend United between 1934 and 1955. The stadium opened for racing in September 1931 which provided Southend with a permanent track following an unsuccessful attempt by promoters in 1927 on the Kursaal, Southend on Sea. In 1948 Rayleigh in Southend provided the sport with a second Southend track but it was overshadowed by its bigger neighbour. Southend was the first greyhound track to film in colour television pictures and hosted a major competition called the Thames Silver Salver and remained a popular track until its closure on Boxing Day 1985. The site is now a retail park. ==References==
